Teva is an authentic icon in the outdoor industry. Founded in the early 1980's by a Colorado River guide, Teva pioneered the sport-sandal category. For more than 20 years on rivers, in canyons, and across the trails of the great outdoors, athletes and enthusiasts have traveled the globe comfortably and confidently in Teva footwear. Providing positive contributions to the world in which we play is at the core of everything Teva stands for. The Teva name itself is a Hebrew word meaning "nature" and the hand logo is the Hopi symbol for "friendship" and "water." Teva supports the outdoor athletic lifestyle and remains committed to innovation in outdoor performance footwear, the platforms which carry enthusiasts beyond the offices of the day-to-day and onto the rivers, trails, and canyons of the next adventure.

The Teva Pivot are very good, well made shoes. Best for freeride or dh. For the price I paid (45), I would give them 5 stars. However, there are some minute things I would change. The upper is sturdy with good ventilation. Foot feels protected but upper doesn't feel too stiff. The laces work fine but not too fond of laces in mtb shoes because they seem to be an annoyance. Would rather have a velcro and buckle system even for freeride/dh shoes. The velcro strap works well though and foot feels secure with the lace and strap. Heel lateral support is very good and toes seem to be well protected. The upper felt comfy on the first ride with no need for break-in. No hot spots or pinching.Sole is good. Stiff but walkable. You will still here the clicky-clack of the cleat when walking on pavement, but you can still wear them before, during, and after the ride. Weight of the shoes is 880 grams which is just not bad for freeride/dh shoes, but would like them to be lighter for enduro riding. The do give you two options on how you want to install the cleat which is nice. I tried to install the cleat using the "new" way they designed where you put the bolts in the shoe, however, that method was frustrating so went with the standard method. The bolts and wrench they provide are horrible because they easily strip and they are just poorly made. I used my Shimano hardware with my install and it was way better.Riding with them is really good. They have good float and the sole doesn't interfere with the pedal so releasing and clipping in is very good. Pedaling is decent for freeride/dh shoes are pretty stiff and will get you up the hill but don't expect to ride winning any XC races Haha. However, stiffness is not like the efficiency of a carbon XC sole, but they are made for downhill not uphill. On the downhills, they feel really nice. Sole feels really planted and foot just feels solid in the shoe. Just riding rocky chop or jumps, your feet feel much more connected. It is too bad Teva just didn't get the following to keep their bike shoe line in business. Not many mtb shoe companies make enduro/freeride/dh clipless shoes. These shoes are one of the best Downhill stile spd clipless shoes I have tried. They are much lighter than an equivalent FiveTen but are reassuringly tough and you feel well protected. Fit is right and comfy. The lace strap is wide and holds the foot in tight. The best thing about them as far as my wonky knees are concerned is the excellent cleat adjustment and positioning. The area around the pedal contact area is wide and allows for an excellent range of adjustments. They extend way back for those who like it and most importantly you can twist the cleats more than almost all other shoes I have tried!! My duck feet need at least a 10 degrees of rotation and these shoes are the only ones that can do that and more!!! The cleat contact plate is metal!! (aluminium!) and is quite stiff. Just out of convenience, I am not using the Teva’s “through the shoe” tightening of the cleats though, I am sure it is effective and much cleaner etc, but I do not carry torx spanners and I am used to doing it this way...old dogs and new tricks really. The not so good part of these shoes is that there is almost no grip in muddy and wet grass. Rather disappointing for a shoe that is supposed to be good for hiking!! A less smooth sole would have been better.I also experienced a tiny bit of heel lift...not a lot and no problem for me, I just tightened the Velcro strap and it was gone...none the less, the fact that it is the only shoe I have experienced this with may well be tell tale sign for those that have this particular problem. All in all I am very happy with them and may buy another. So I bought these because they looked good and the reviews from all the bike sites were great. This review is more about the experience with a little about the shoe itself.Apparently, Teva had several things happen since these were originally released a year ago. The information below was given to me by several Customer Service Reps from the Teva Support desk via email. The original version of these shoes had a rubber gasket that was placed in between the screw plate and the shoe to keep mud/water out. There was a promotional shoot done with the gaskets which were pictured on all the review sites, but they are not an actual Teva product.Apparently they recalled the shoe as the gasket caused issues with the cleat loosening from the shoe. The newer version of the shoe (which I have) does not come with the rubber gasket. So there is no mechanism to keep water/mud from getting in the shoe from the other cleat holes that are not used. Another email to support said that they'd reimburse me for the waterproof seals if I purchased them from a local bike store. Nobody sells them. (The sticker seals come with Shimano shoes sometimes, but no one had any extras).I called Teva customer support and asked verbally what options I had. They suggested that Duct tape or Gaffers tape is what others are using. Thats disappointing. I was heavily considering returning them back to Amazon.I ended up keeping them because my other pair of MTB shoes are roughly 8 years old and starting to show wear and tear. I put a small piece of gaffers tape over the screw plate as a temporary solution for now.The first ride I did, the cleats ended up sliding all over the place when I installed the cleat from the inside of the shoe. Not good grip between the cleat teeth and the silver cleat cut out in the sole.I removed the cleats and installed the traditional way- much better. Had to tighten the crap out of them. Hopefully I dont have to replace the cleats anytime soon. The shoe itself isnt that bad. Flexible, light and the velcro strap works well in avoiding heel lift. You do feel the screw plate/cleat under your feet when you walk. I'm going to ride with it a few more times to see how hard I can push the shoe/cleat combo.I was hoping for 2014/2015 they would do some improvements on the product line, but apparently Teva shut down their bike collection line and will no longer making shoes for cyclist. That sucks cause a buddy of mine said the Links shoe is the best he'd ridden in the past few years. If you do buy the shoe, just be aware you can get all that crap seep into shoe...
