I have been looking for a well-made woman's Oxford black leather shoe for some time - basically a good men's dress shoe redesigned for a woman's foot. I ordered this pair from Amazon and the shoes were well-made - very solid feeling, with real leather, real brass tacks, etc. Unfortunately they didn't fit my feet, so I had to return them. They were too tight across the ball of my feet and too loose on the heels. I have high arched feet with narrow heels and it's difficult for me to find shoes that fit. I would recommend these shoes to women who have regular feet who don't generally have trouble finding shoes. These would be particularly appropriate for women who need plain, black Oxfords for uniforms, such as those in the military, and others who need supportive, sturdy shoes.I bought the Patent leather shoe and it’s great ..SoI wanted the real leather shoe. This is also a great shoe, but I’ve only had them a month wore a few times..The shoes arerComfortable to wear I don’t believe the upper part of the shoe is real leather it’s cracking as well for $151 is ridiculous..The speed at which they were delivered. The Bates company offers an extremely comfortable shoe. I'm not in the military. I'm a teacher who is constantly moving. These shoes, by far, are the most comfortable I've worn. Now, to the nitty-gritty…I'm a size 8.5 narrow. These shoes have proven true to fit. Although, I'm flat-footed. I need my casted foot orthotics in every pair of shoes I wear. The insole provided must be removed in order for my feet to feel comfortably. This Bates Women's Leather Uniform Shoe is NOT Leather. Rather like another reviewer noted it is more like a polyurethane. The quality of the shoe is poor and it looks cheap. Every time I took a step the plastic pushed down on the top of my foot. The shoe was not wearable. I returned the Fake Bates Women's Leather Uniform Shoe and I was charged a $25 restocking fee.excellent duty shoe for my daughter as she embarks on her journey as a new west point cadet18-year-old daughter to attend The Citadel and these were recommended by the college. my daughter thinks they are beautiful and exceed her expectations.....I wish I got a smaller size. But one shoe squeezes my foot and is painful. I've never had that problem before.
