Globe Men's Sabre Skate Shoes - Durable & Comfortable Skateboarding Sneakers for Street Style & Casual Wear

Overall these are very comfortable shoes. The sock-style tongue feels good on the ankles and makes the whole shoe feel more snug and well-fitting. They're also much lighter than they look thanks to the airbag in the heel replacing heavier materials. From the bottom, the 1st, 3rd, and 4th lace loops have double loops so you can lace the inner loops and have the outer ones (made of a pretty durable material) protect the laces. The laces are the wide, flat type, which in my experience tend to break quickly. I left these in the outer loops and laced a thicker pair into the inner loops. That way if the wimpy ones break trying to land a trick you don't have to tie the broken ends together just to keep them on your feet.The toe is covered with the same material and has a nice hard feel to it. It's durable and slides well, but it scuffs somewhat easily. Above the seam on the toe is this sort of lip; it looks stylish, but it wears off easily. After the third kickflip I had sanded that toe lip thing completely off on the outside, which gives the shoe a bit of a tattered look rather quickly. Sewn in below the first two lace loops is a hard plastic piece with ridges that serves to reinforce the slide spot. It's a nice hard plastic (rubber? not sure) material, but it doesn't audibly scrape across the grip tape or get ground into a powder or anything.The rubber sole has a nice tread pattern and it's super heavy duty, able to stand up to using the heel as a break quite well. The rubber wraps up around the toe about 1/2 in. or so, and it's super grippy, perfect for heelflips. Unlike some of those skinny-style Emericas and Vans, these have a nice wide base for better stability, but the snug fit of the sock tongue made it so the shoe doesn't feel too loose. Normally shoes have this 'grace period' where you have to break them in so their not so stiff. I don't know how they did it, but these shoes were loosened up and flexible right out of the box. The insole padding is nice and comfy and the arch is average, but I have a high arch on my foot so take that for what it's worth.Conclusion: Stylish and durable shoes all around. Minus one star just because of the small cosmetic issues with the toe material and the lip that gets shredded too easy. Small down side compared to how well they skate.These puppies are like walking on pillows. Probably not for folks with high arches needing that kind of support. These things surround your foot with padding. Good for activities and cold weather. Watch the tread, though. They're not meant for the ice coming up. Oh, and they look sick as h***.comfy i weigh alot and havent experienced a blow out yet and ive wore them on my dirt bike a few times would reccomend these shoes and fast shippingI like them cause I can just slide them on. I don't skate anymore but they are worth the money I still have them and it's been years.I have been wearing the Sabre for about 10 years. I don't skate much anymore, but have continued to love these for everyday wear, working, or just kickin it around. Wore this particular pair for a few hours and was SUPER disappointed. Just walking around left several large nicks in the material around the toe and sides. Could tell how chewed up they were going to look in a matter of minutes if I were still skating. I'm REALLY HOPING it was because they weren't COMPLETELY made of top grain leather. I will be sure to try another pair of the Sabres that IS. If they still start to fall apart right outta the box.... well, I am gonna be soooo BUMMEDI don't care what people think or say, I grew up skating big ass shoes. After skating a bunch of SBs and Adidas , going back to big shoes made skateboarding nostalgic again. Lasted me a long time to, a lot of flip tricksvery great looking design. beautiful. No caveats, except for that theyre a little tight feeling AT FIRST.. but i know they will loosen up.the reason they feel a little small is because the back ankle cushion pushes your foot forward so your toes are pushed up.I wasnt as big of a fan as the "night" color as i thought id be. it looks a little more like a faded discolored black, not good looking color at all imo.i dont regret the purchase, but for almost $90, i thought theyd use a better color than the "night" look... because the shoes actual design is sexy AFI had a pair of these a few years ago but i outgrew them. And i couldnt find them again in the size i needed. But once i did i had to get another pair. The PROs are*Super comfy and light weight. (i worry about shoe weight on account of my muscular dystrophy.)*Very stylish and a bonus the tongue is one piece and wont move*Extremely durable the last pair i had i put through everything from hiking in the woods to a full day riding quads and dirt bikes. Im sure this pair will do the same.CONS*Shoes a little tight around the ankle but loosens after wearing in a short period of time. Other than that these are the greatest shoes on the PLANET!!Fantastic style,have bought many,my only gripe,and it's a big one,the air pockets at the heel have cracked and failed on a lot of the trainers I've had,exchanged a few and still they've cracked.a design flaw.
