My wife and I are avid day hikers--since retirement we've even stepped it up. We hike for at least a few miles most days, even in winter, and we live in Hood River Oregon. These boots are waterproof, even after months of use crossing creeks, hiking through mud and snow, and even store visits! Why store visits? I like these shoes so much that I rarely wear anything else--save water shoes occasionally and snow boots occasionally. I have one "dress" pair for everyday use and a "dirty pair" for nearly every day hiking. Once the dirty pair has had quite enough--and this takes a very long time, they become my yard work boots, the "dress" pair become my hiking boots, and I go on Amazon and order a new pair. Love 'em!
