PeerfectEasy to order, great shoe and fitExactly what I wanted and expectedI was insanely happy to see these were being made again!! This was the only style and brand I wore for many years because of how comfortable, uniquely cool looking and long lasting they were. Upon opening my new pair I immediately noticed a mistake that only a blind or color blind person could make. Tucked inside my black and white CT-IV's was a second pair of laces that were pink and not black (lost a star in rating). After lacing them up I was heart broken for they were almost 2 sizes too big (lost a star in rating) and yet the tag read the size (10) I had worn for many, many years. There was no strange odor and smelled like brand new shoes. The quality and look is as awesome as they always have been and pretty damn near have the same comfort. The only difference in comfort I feel comes from the sole I believe, but other than that everything feels just like my old pairs. They came in a Globe brand box with parchment paper, shoes stuffed with usual paper and came with a Globe sticker. I can honestly say that I WILL definitely be buying these for as long as they're made and hopefully they NEVER STOP. I'll just go down a size until it fits right and make a note to ensure the right color of laces sent. All in all if you've ever worn these and liked/loved them you won't be disappointed! I'd just suggest going down half a size from what you were use to. After I move I will definitely be buying 4-8 more pairs ASAP. DON'T EVER STOP MAKING THESE COOL AND HIGHLY COMPLIMENTED CT-IV CLASSICS PLEASE!!! Thank you Globe and Chet Thomas for hands down making the coolest looking and comfy shoe I've ever worn!!! TAKE MY MONEY NOW!!!!!!-UPDATE- After seeing about getting the pink laces corrected I was informed by the seller that Globe gives male and female purchasers pink laces as the 2nd pair for this colorway and not black. Which makes no sense. I will contact Globe to see why and update my review with info. Update- Globe does not sell the black and white/Gum colorway with a pink pair of laces. The seller of this item claims they do. These are suppose to come with black and white lacesOkay first of all I have to say I'm 27 and I originally had a pair of these when I was like 12 and they had been out for a couple years. But they were still selling strong and I remember realizing why. I skated, ran around, jumped out of trees, jumped down stairs on my board and did all sorts of things for an entire year and the shoes remained virtually the same, especially considering I couldn't do flip tricks yet. One day my mom threw them away and I absolutely flipped out and she just kept going back to how "no they were done." I distinctly remember going a year with them and thinking "wow these don't even smell" and I was satisfied I never once had to question the integrity of those things.Today, the modern version is close but no cigar. They are basically the same in appearance on your foot, which is good if you want to just rock them. But they aren't that insane quality. They are triple stitched and have all that paneling and all that but they don't have like that memory foam insole and just supreme ankle comfort. However the toes and forefoot feel awesome. Unfortunately mine were the "Battleship" color and are made out of nubuck and leather which both broke in to show a ton of wrinkling. I kneeled on cement once and the toe box on one shoe totally tore up. Now they look totally blemished but they don't seem like they will skate the same. They are several months broken in but they just don't remind me of the old ones. Would I buy another pair, YES. Just needs a little more padding where ankle meets forefoot like another person said.I'm a 80s baby/90s kid and these were my style during my teenage years! Love the look and hope they will hold up to the abuse I'll be putting them through. Quality looks good and they've held up so far! A true classic for a reason!Tread doesn't last long. Wears out to fastThis is a great shoe but it's a little heavy do to the padding. It's very comfortable and durable for whatever you make use them for (hopefully skating). Make sure you get the right size for you too, with this type of shoe you don't want it loose.ordered size 7, a bit too big, but that one is on me, returned the same day(Friday) the exchange pair arrived size 6,5, fits perfect, they are genuine, and the came from Germany, I know that because I was tracking the parcel, overall as good as I know globe to be. Good leather, sole, rubber etc, as far as the comment earlier that the sole is harder that the one he has, if they are cold, they are harder, if they are new, it's normal a bit ultill the leather softens a little bit, and they are authentic, and the seller is more than alright, and I say again they are not fake...Came early, nicely made with that typical cool ‘Globe ‘ style, colour, shape, graphic, aesthetically great.. Pleased, worn around the world, today’s Globe is instantly connected. These trainers stand well with their name giving a clue, ‘ Globe Footwear ‘ Fit in locally as well as world wide, and they feel great whilst on, so comfy as a skate shoe, or equally as fashion type everyday foot ware.. 9/10 & already looking better than my well made DVS & DC’s... Quickly becoming my favourite trainer..Thanks Australia for sharing with us.I used to sell Globe footwear so I've always been more than happy with style, fit and quality. It's been a while and since then I have had other brands, all of which have decreased in quality with changes to types of soles etc. These were like stepping back into an old friend. Not a lot to say really. As someone who is very fussy when it comes to trainers I'm on my 5th pair of Encores. Light, super comfy and look good. The also last well. I don't think the 2's have the same quality as the originals but they're still worthy. Noice.I've always worn skate shoes (had all the different brands over the years) and for the last 20 years they've all been size UK 9 and have fitted perfectly however these seem to be a little big, they seem almost like a UK 9.5. Other than that, usual Globe quality so all good.
