I typically use this during hunting season to organize all of my hunting gear so I can just leave it in my truck. Works fantastic. It would work to store a gun, at least a shotgun or unscoped rifle, not sure if a scoped one would fit, but I personally don’t use it that way. It’s very sturdy and solid; I put a mix of heavy things (ammo etc) and lighter stuff in it. I don’t have any concerns about damaging it. The velcro is very solid and sturdy as well.
