The gt-ds is a hybrid model based on the original design of the gt-ii that launched in 1986. The upper’s construction stays relatively true to its traditional mold, while it utilizes combined componentry of the gel-ds trainer, featuring visible gel in the midsole. In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan. He chose the name ASICS for his company in 1977, based on a famous Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano," which, when translated, expresses the ancient ideal of "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body." Taking the acronym of this phrase, ASICS was founded on the belief that the best way to create a healthy and happy lifestyle is to promote total health and fitness. Today, ASICS offers a full line of performance-driven athletic shoes and technical active sports apparel and accessories dedicated to bringing harmony to the body and soul.

I normally wear a 10.5 shoe, but after reading the comments about these shoes, I decided to order an 11. I am glad I did, because they still fit just a tad tight -- not to the point where they were uncomfortable, but I could feel my toes definitely hitting the end of the shoe.Other than the strange plastic on either side of the shoes - which I expect will eventually shred the shoelaces after tightening them a number of times - I really liked the them.Nice looking on sleek makes your feet look slim. ( I have chubby feet) very comfortable the air chamber is amazing you can feel the air when you step. Works well for my heel pad syndrome. Meaning my fat in the heel has disapated due to alot of cortisone injections. So these sneakers really feel great. Also the sneakers tongue is connected and does not stretch very far. So it takes a little work to get them on. Maybe manufacturer should add elastic on both sides of tongue. But I still love the look and feel. To me it's worth it. Great price too!Strangely enough these did not fit . Way too small ! Which is unusual because Asics have always been a winner with me. Had to pay the ship these back but got a prompt refund so they get the four stars.Very soft soled shoe. Like walking on pillows. Nice fit sides and toe. The heel strap is a lil tight with no way to adjust. May want to go half size up? Great shoe.I was impressed with the make and style of the shoe, however, it was slightly tighter than I thought it would be. It's mostly true to size, but I wouldn't recommend wearing thick socks with these shoes.Awesome sneakers!Looks and fits great!This is a unisex model but on this page and from this seller, you can order men's size. If you are a lady and want to order it for yourself - just find your size in cm :) For example, my usual women,s shoe size is 6-6,5 and for this model, I ordered 4,5-5.The only thing I didn't like was that the tongue is attached to the shoe, I guess I didn't notice it in the pictures. It would be a greater shoe without this feature.bought them for my boyfriend he loves them, he also ordered them in black!
