Got these a few months ago, and I waited to do my review until I had worn them for awhile. These shoes are nothing short of magic. Prior to this pair, I had an older pair of Adidas Cloudfoams I was using for training, and while they were comfortable, I didn't think they were ideal. I happen to stumble upon these beauties while searching for my next pair of training shoes. I balked at the price at first, but I did some research and saw that it was lower than the going price for other Ultraboosts.After a glowing recommendation from my friend (and nice pictures and reviews on Amazon), I took the dive and bought them. Here's a few things that stood out to me:1) There tongue of the shoe is solid and the shoe is all one piece. I didn't bother me, as I found they fit true to size and slipped on fairly comfortably. During my workouts, I was surprised to find that the engineering of the shoe allowed for more stabilization, and I was able to perform better in functional training.2) The back of the shoe has a solid piece that also aids in stabilization. My balance seems improved when I wear these versus the cloudfoams.3) The comfort level is not even comparable. I'm a size 9, ordered a 9, and the shoe fit like a glove. I have had zero foot pain since wearing these. I could literally walk for hours upon hours and not feel it. I've never had that happen with previous trainers.4) There are some neat details on this shoe, since it's a Game of Thrones tie-in. I got the Lannister one, and there is a house crest on the inside of tongue of the shoe that is surprisingly nice. There is also a tag on the back that says "Hear me roar", the House motto. It makes me feel kind of powerful when working out (though it serves no other function than that lol).Overall, I am sold on ultraboosts for a very, very long time because of this shoe. The construction, comfort, and stabilizing elements of it cannot be beat, and, they've held up really well over the last few months of me putting them to work. There was some fraying of the uppers, but that was my fault (I tried to wipe off some milk that I had spilled on them and rubbed too hard). I think that would be my only complaint, though: that the uppers are kind of delicate and prone to fraying if agitated too much. But with proper care, I think that's avoidable. In any case, all the positives of these shoes outweigh that minimal issue.While I like Game of Thrones just fine, I actually got these shoes because I liked the color. I’ve never worn Adidas sneakers before so I wasn’t sure what to expect—I was ready to send them back immediately if they weren’t worth the $180.The shoes I got are the red House Lannister—the uppers are a chili-red tweed with black and metallic silver flecks. I didn’t really register this in the description, but the uppers are a stretchy knit fabric, which I love because it conforms to the widest part of my foot (at the top of my toes) without pinching. The knit is also breathable, obviously not going to do well in a mud puddle. The only thing Lanniserish about the shoe is a little vertical tag at the heel that reads HEAR ME ROAR. I would really have loved “A Lannister always pays his debts” or a visible Lion sigil (there’s a little gold lion on the other side of the Adidas tab but it’s not visible when you put the sneaker on).The other thing I didn’t really understand is that there is no tongue—the entire upper is a single piece of fabric. Here again, the fabric conforms to to my instep and side of my ankle comfortably, with no gaps or rubbing. This may not work if you have a very high instep or wear very thick socks because you’re limited to the stretch of the fabric.The sole of the shoe is lightweight, with Adidas’ Torsion System. The only thing I don’t like is that the sole is bright white molded plastic, and it doesn’t go with the red/black/silver fabric.I normally wear a women’s 8.5 or 9–my foot is something like an 8.75–and I ordered a 9. It’s comfortable and not too long.Overall...a keeper!Love the style, colors and comfort. Unfortunately, they were a little too small and there was a stain on the top left shoe so I returned them. I would definitely buy them again if they had a bigger size.As many probably did, I anticipated these for a long time. Tried the Adidas website and ultimately had to buy them here. They were available with same day delivery! Woohoo.I originally wanted the White Walker version and ordered those on Amazon too but they won't be here for another week or so. I ordered these as a backup option just in case.I ordered my normal size, size 7 as instructed by Adidas. They arrived quickly and are everything I expected. The details make them truly special.However they are a solid size too small so I am ordering another pair and returning these. Thankfully they are all in stock now so it isn't a problem.Maybe they were a little too hyped for the frenzy that happened but they are really cool and I believe still worth the money.They feel like they will be super comfy once they are the right size. My boyfriend bought the "dragon" shoes for Targaryen on Amazon same-day and he loves them. He is considering a second pair as a backup. He bought his normal size and they are perfect. Maybe men's sizes are true to size but the women's are too small.Worth the price. Great as actual shoes.
