These things look really cool, don’t you think? Most cyclists, moi included, like looking sharp on their rides. That means wearing the fashionable cycling gear of their favorite team, or donning the latest flyweight GoreTex rain jacket. Why then, you might ask, am I only giving these ultra cool rain booties 3 stars?I can tell you that they do a near perfect job of keeping my feet 100% dry in even drenching downpours. I know, I’ve been there. The thing of it is, you see, putting on these rubber beauties is sort of like... well...sort of like putting on a condom that’s too tight, and we all know where that can lead: breakage! These are excruciatingly difficult to get on, but for the gentle handed, patient cyclists among us, they really are effective.I have and use, more often, a pair of zip up PUC booties that I bought from China on a shopping portal that will remain unnamed here on Amazon. But I really do love these Velotoze booties, and still wear them on those wet occasions when only red feet will do. But, then again, I know when to pull out. What i live about them is that they look really sleek and the pop of color helps to be visible on the road. Looks great. They looks so great in fact that i got lots of compliments when wearing. However, they do not seem to last. I wore it once and holes near the top of my shoe already appeared. Don’t think they will survive the season. Also my feet where still wet. But that might have been me placing the sick incorrectly. Everyone else who wore them seemed to be happy with the water repellent. They worked great! Shoes and feet kept dry from rain. Tricky to get on quickly so read directions and allow time. Bad news...they’re essentially a one-time use. Both got small tears near foot bed and crank. But depending on how you look at it $20 could be acceptable. You spend that much just to go to a movie. These are rubber! If you are looking for covers to keep your feet warm while cycling don’t get theseBetter design than the toes version. Method of putting them on leads to less chance for a tear. Like the bright green color for visibility.A pain to put on/get off. I understand if you want to be "super aero" but the watts you save with this (in my opinion) is NOT worth all the work to put them on and then take them off again. Does not let your foot breather either... just FYI.These are made of a tight rubber material, and are very difficult to put on and take off. I’ve learned to roll them on and off, but the process is still very trying. They also tear very easily, and will likely only last for a small amount of rides. Once on, they do help keep my feet warm, and they are cheaper than the zip up foot warmers. However, the struggle to wear them is not worth the difference in costs. They're the cheapest I could find but the size for my shoe size gets a little loose on the tip of the foot. It also will get dirty immediately and it's impossible to clean.OK... good and waterproof until they break which usually only takes about 10 rides. This makes this a very expensive product. We've had 2 pairs and both broke after normal use. The problem is that they are so tight and inflexible that it's difficult to get them to fit over cycling shoes with all the clips / velcro.Shame, because they are a genius idea.... need thicker rubber.really awful product - very difficult to get on - not practical - seasoned cyclist and I have to say this is the worst product I have ever bought.I also tried to return it but they refused as they said I had opened the packaging and tried it on but isn't that the same as trying any piece of clothing on that doesn't fit - you should be able to return it. Would definitely not recommend product or the seller as the service is dreadful! These split the first time I tried to put one on. I was following the instructions carefully, but it split. Since they’re made from something like think balloon material, they can’t withstand cuts or tears at all.Only worn twice , on the second ride , I noticed a rip at the front t if the cover - disappointingDifficult to put on and get off. Split by the third time of wearing them
