I'm not a runner; I bought these as walking shoes, so I can't comment on them for running. They are among the most comfortable I've ever owned. They have soft but supportive comfort. I have wide feet; I usually wear a 9.5 wide. After reading the reviews, I decided to buy both the 2E and the 4 E width, as some reviewers found they ran a bit narrow. I wound up keeping the 4 E and returning the 2E. They seem well very well made. I used to wear the New Balance 990 series until they changed the manufacture of them and made them far less comfortable. It's very difficult for me to find a really comfortable shoe (as manufacturers seem to ruin a good thing after a while) but these are comfortable right out of the box, and even more so after a little break in. I'm thinking of ordering another pair to put away for when these eventually wear out, they're that good!
