So I have upper thoracic scoliosis, broke my knee a few years ago, fractured a bone in my foot, have broken a couple toes, and have felt feet. Back, hip, knee, and foot pain is just part of my life most of the time. I've had a few good shoes throughout the years and some not so good. I pretty much wrecked myself during quarantine by spending all day flip flopping around the house in cheap slippers and worn out slides. When I started having more than usual pain in familiar places and even new pain and new places, I knew it was time to put on some good shoes. None of my old sneakers or even newer ones seemed to help much...some even made things worse. I read the reviews and story on Ryka and decided to try some.I definitely put them to the test ...Had to stand in line for 2.5 hours yesterday for car registration...outside in the cold...on concrete. Pain in all kinda places by the time that was done.. I was so glad to see that Amazon box on the porch when I got home. I slipped right into these shoes and walked around for the remainder of the day in them. The pain and stiffness literally melted away as the day went on. I think last night was the first in months that even my knee didn't start cramping up. I woke up today feeling a new person. I even decided to dress up and put on some heeled boots I haven't worn in a while. No doubt I was hurting after a few hours in those, but I slipped them off and my Rykas on to finish some chores. The pain subsided without Advil. I'm looking forward to getting back into a daily walking, dare I say, jogging, routine if these shoes allow me to do it without paying with pain. If that's the case, Ryka has my business for life. Will update, but I am highly impressed for now.
