Liked: Good fit, light weightDisliked: Arch support felt like a lump and wasn't quite in the correct spot (for me).I got this as a replacement for my Hurricane, but will stick with Hurricane and return this shoe.My heel has been bothering me all summer, these shoes came recommended to me for that reason. They are very comfortable and cushy.Unfortunately, I had to return it because the shoe was all gold and not yellow at all so it did not match any of my running clothing. Not wanting to go on another buying spree for gold clothing I returned it. It looked like it would be really comfortable though.Been a long time Saucony Hurricane fan. Purchased the Tempus because I read it is meant to replace the Hurricane. Pros: Lightweight, adds spring to your step, good stability, hugs my narrow feet (AA or AAAA depending on the type shoe). I personally believe it has helped with aches and pains while running. Cons: Fabric around the ankle is rougher than expected. I do not recommend no-see socks as you may experience extreme chaffing and blisters to the point of bleeding. It's a departure from the normal soft fabric Saucony has used in that area in the past. Recommend at least wearing a Balega running sock. In addition, the arch support hits farther back on my arch than normal. I don't know if it is the shoe construction that forces my foot forward in my normal size or what. What I can say with certainty is I have a 7 narrow/slim foot, long high arch and long toes. I would normally wear a 7.5 and have in all other Saucony running shoes. However I had to size up to an 8 in order for arch to provide appropriate support. I have not been sorry I sized up. My runs have been more productive and I can go further on my runs. While I know productive runs are based on my things, a good solid pair of shoes must be added to the mix. I am a 3 to 5 mile runner and walker so no serious long distance running anymore. However I do recommend but I recommend you size up if good arch support is important to you.For reference:I am a true US 7.5 with slender feet, long toes, and high arches. I walk/run mostly on pavement for health, not serious training.Product Description:I ordered Saucony Tempus hoping to find new shoes that would relieve shin splints. Almost all of the sneakers I own are black with white so in a rare moment of liveliness I ordered the gray pair to spice it up. The shoes are light concrete gray, bright white soles, and what I thought was baby pinkish is actually pastel purple. The soles are quite thick. The footbed has plenty of cushion and the heel has a bit of springiness. The toe box is vented. I was able to tighten the laces enough for my slender feet. The test:I started off walking on pavement. It took a couple of blocks to adjust to the contoured frame and extra thickness of the soles. On the rougher surfaces, I had to pick my feet up more to avoid getting tripped up. Once I did, the shoes were comfortable and totally relieved my shin splints. When jogging, the springy heel really accelerated my steps and I found I was able to lengthen my stride with the extra oomph provided. It is subtle but noticeable and I found it to be kind of fun. Again, I had no shin splints and I very much enjoyed the extra heel cushion that initially tripped me up. During my cool down, I did pick up a small rock that I had to knock out with the curb. I also tripped a couple more times but the bearded boyfriend insists that my poor walking habits of not picking up my feet enough was the cause. Which I’m not saying is untrue, but didn’t seem to be a regular problem with my other shoes. In my photos, I included a pair of Brooks Revel for comparison trying to show how much thicker and curved the Saucony’s are. I think the Saucony’s are actually more comfortable during the actual run but I am able to walk easier in basically every other brand.Recommendation:The Tempus is a very cushioned and comfortable running shoe. I had no blisters or rubbing at all and my shin splints were completely relieved. The price is comparable to other popular brands for this type of shoe. If you are a natural foot dragger or shallow step taker, you may need a few blocks to get used to the thick soles of these shoes. As for recommendation, Saucony is a well known and respected brand. The fit is true and the quality of construction is excellent. My biggest gripe was the purple tint but that is nit-picking. I would buy these shoes again and I have already recommended to a friend.I love this brand of sneakers for running and walking and have had great experiences with every style I’ve tried to date. This pair is beautiful, supportive and adequately flexible. The only issue I had was that there is a weird part of the arch where the footbed connects to the surround that runs on the foot, resulting in a blister for me the first few times I wore these. What I’ve loved about this brand in the past is that I’ve never had to “break them in”, which is the worst part of getting new shoes. With this style, it took about 8-10 uses before the uncomfortable part was broken in.These are great otherwise.
