This is a fantastic product. No more picking up spool after spool from a shoe box looking for the right color of thread; and no more tangled bobbin threads. They're now all laid out neatly in 23 easy-to-view sections on each side of this thread organizer (46 sections total; 2 of them are the same width as the others, but twice as long), with plenty of room to store your spools of thread and other notions. It's a bit bigger than I expected, but it's still compact enough to fit onto a small shelf in my sewing cabinet. The individual slots are also bigger than expected and can hold a large spool (Gutterman or Coats & Clark) and 2 bobbins with room to spare. If you prefer smaller spools (skinny spools like Gutterman), two or three will fit quite easily in each section. It's made of a nice, heavy weight translucent plastic. Clear enough that you can see the colors inside with little difficulty, but not crystal clear. My first organizer was damaged during delivery, and a bit of plastic broke off the corner, so be sure to check the edges. A replacement arrived within days of reporting the problem, and it's in perfect shape. I've been using it now for just over a week while quilting and making curtains for a friend--things are much simpler now when switching from project to project. And because the lid secures everything well, I don't have to worry about my cat stealing my bobbins!
