So in the 1890s, Joseph William Foster made some of the first known running shoes with spikes in them. This is a great shoe. It fits snug, but highly advice purchasing atleast 1 whole size smaller than what is typically worn. I am a true size 8, but usually wear a 7.5 because I have a very narrow foot. I wear a 6.5 in Reebok because they run very large. It is very easy to turn and dance with good technique in these shoes, only issue is I wish they had more padding. These shoes have been discontinued by Reebok, but wish they would bring them back because best dance sneakers ever!Got these for partner dancing. They do not glide at all on a floor that is not super clean and smooth, but find one that is and you are good to go. Unexpected: the pivot point is not the part that glides. It's the part that gives you traction. I don't like this, but I guess I can see the benefit of that. These are super comfy! The comfiest shoe I've had since... I can't remember when. Probably a very long time. I also like how thick and wide the bottom is, giving an unusual sense of stability, which makes them great for a athletic dance positions / dips, etc. They also look stylish, I got a couple compliments on them my first time out dancing. My previous shoes, while not dance specific, look similar to these in style and color.... never got compliments. A lot of people have shoes in this color, athletic looking... including in the dance world. So the color doesn't necessarily stand out even though it looks really cool and is really popular... but something about these makes them stand out somewhat anyway. These probably have a little less softness to the insole than my similar-looking shoe, but that's okay. I just got memory-foam, slip-in soles so I can use those for the long dance weekend coming up.I was looking for a Zumba shoe that was comfortable and flexible with just enough grip on the bottom. These have worked great! I ordered the size I normally wear (10) and they fit. They do not run small in my opinion. These look like high tops but do not feel like high tops. Lots of cushion. Easy to slip on and off. The laces are nylon so I had to double tie them in order for them to stay tied. My feet slide around a little due to the fabric being used to make them breathable - with different socks, this issue can be resolved so find a pair that works for you. Lots of fun colors to choose from and the price is not going to break your bank. I may order a second pair for when these wear out. **UPDATE 4 months later - 5 of my zumba going friends have now bought these shoes and love them like I do. These are amazing!I recently started a pretty serious weight loss journey, where a good portion of what I was doing was exercise. I’ve always been a dance person so I’ve been doing the beachbody Country Heat program most days, and supplementing with 2 Zumba-type classes each week. Part of the problem is, I’ve always had relatively weak ankles and carrying around a lot of extra weight has only exacerbated the problem while doing this kind of exercise. Since I was sick of my constantly sore Achilles’ tendons, I thought I should get myself some shoes that provide a little bit of ankle support and these shoes were the highest rated dance fitness shoes with a “high top” I could find. I really really like them. While they don’t give a huge amount of support for my ankle, I do feel a difference during a workout. Also, they are super lightweight which is great when I’m kicking around. And lastly, they are cute as can be and so easy to slip on. I love that there isn’t a tongue I have to worry about being misaligned. The Hayasu is without a doubt my FAVOURITE shoe from Reebok, thus far. Before, I was very particular to the Combat trainer or RealFlex (before they quit making them the same), but once I put these bad boys on I was in LOVE! I think the best part is the fact that they are honestly an all-over shoe. I wear them on days that I teach multiple studio classes in a row and they fit for all needs. They work for weight-lifting, cardio, dance -- EVERYTHING! And on "off" days? They're the perfect shoe just to walk around in as well, comfy and stylish.Sizing-wise, I normally wear from an 8.5 to a 9 in women's sneaks and this shoe is a great fit sticking with the 8.5. There is great side-wall stability and ankle support and the turn style on the bottom helps for quick movements yet the bottom of the shoe sticks when you need it to stick. It's a pretty revolutionary shoe - I'd advice anyone and everyone to pick up a pair, whether you're looking for an updated athletic shoe or just a great everyday shoe.Bought a half to full size up on a hunch that paid off. My 13 yr old son loves similar Nike shoes and told me slightly bigger is more comfy with this material so I gave it a go. Nike is the brand my family wears until I found a pair of Reebok leggings that instantly became my go to favorite pants. Thought I'd try the shoes too and they're better looking and more comfortable than any of my nikes I'm a convert even my boys are admitting my Reebok shoes are better than the Nike Hirachi ones they wear. The colors are better and the fit. I'm usually a 6.5, run in shoes a size up to account for swelling from distance runs. These my tiny 6.5 feet bought an 8 and am totally happy with it! If you're just wearing to wear buy your size but if you are wearing to run especially distance and swell like I do order up. PS try Reebok's yoga and athletic leggings they're the bestSuper comfy shoe with a lot of bounce from the sole. The top is a soft neoprene like material. At first I didn't like that I could feel the shoelace through the material, but I didn't notice it after a little bit. Great arch support and good lateral support at the front of the shoe. I am glad I ordered 1/2 a size down, as there was still plenty of room, even though it's smaller than what I usually buy for sneakers. However, I decided to keep the Adidas Gymbreaker Bounce over these. It was a close call, but I felt the Gymbreaker had a sturdier heel cup and outer material so the back of my foot didn't slide. I thought it might be possible to twist my ankle with the Hayasu. Plus the Gymbreaker was $5 cheaper. That being said, I will keep an eye on the price of these and possibly purchase them again if they go on sale.So this review is for the size 8 and 7 in this shoe. Currently waiting for 7.5 and I will update when they arrive.Okay so getting these shoes to fit is a work in progress BUT they are really great shoes so I'm fully invested in getting the right size.So far I have tried the 8 and the 7. I have a pair of Reebok dance shoes in an 8 and they fit like a glove but apparently the sizes do not translate. The 8 felt like I had an inch in the toe.I then ordered a 7 and could barely squeeze my foot in! So I am awaiting the 7.5 with my fingers crossed.Otherwise the colour is great, love the mottled white on the bottom.Fabric is smooth and sleek. The plastic/rubber details are interesting as well as the suede heel. They can be dressed down with sweats or shorts, but look really cool with jeans or leggings as well.Fantastic shoes for my dance classes at the gym. Good slide, no tread to trip you up an just really comfy.Still loving them after using them for months ?My daughter loves these shoes. We bought her a new pair of shoes one week before these arrived. She hasn’t even touched the previous shoes. She LOVES them! These are great shoes! Love the support and comfort. My feet don't slide at all inside the shoe which is a nice change. They are a bit snug but the more I wear them they're loosening up just enough to be perfectly supportive!Fit way too loose for a 9 and at least half a size too long. Style is nice and subtle, I wish it had a little more weight even as dance shoes.
