I have a lot of foot problems, so foot pain is a chronic issue for me. Unfortunately, I love to walk and hike so I'm constantly looking for good footwear. The Ryka Revenant shoe is amazingly comfy even after 8 miles. The interior of the shoe is soft and does not have pressure points that rub, even on the instep. Be aware that there is little motion control in the heel so if you have pronation issues this shoe will not correct, you will need to use an insert. The trade-off is that this shoe is very light, pliable, cushy and breathable The shoe rides very well on paved or well-groomed surfaces and has a nice "assist" to propel your foot from the initial heel strike. However, the sole is not sturdy enough for gravel or secondary trails, so you will want to look for something else if you are not primarily on paved or well-groomed surfaces. All in all, these have performed very well on the paved trails that I use. And the price is right!
