The endurance shoe is designed for light trail-running. A close weave mesh upper keeps your feet cool, while keeping dirt and debris out for a more comfortable off-road adventure. In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan. He chose the name ASICS for his company in 1977, based on a famous Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano," which, when translated, expresses the ancient ideal of "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body." Taking the acronym of this phrase, ASICS was founded on the belief that the best way to create a healthy and happy lifestyle is to promote total health and fitness. Today, ASICS offers a full line of performance-driven athletic shoes and technical active sports apparel and accessories dedicated to bringing harmony to the body and soul.

They've had a lot of miles put on them and a bit of yard work too. The type of laces last longer and seem to be easier to clean than the standard flat laces. The color hasn't faded much and even the worn areas are holding up well.Edit: These shoes lasted about 6 months before a major blowout on one side. They were worn 5-7 days a week and went 3 to 12 miles a day on paved and unpaved trails. The color still never faded, the laces and the outer soles held up well.I did use additional insoles but I'm not sure everyone would need them.I walk and stand a lot when I work, and I need a good comfortable shoes to go with my feet. I've always had good comfortable asics shoes, from the asics gel venture 5, to asics cumulus, asics nimbus. The ascis cumulus and nimbus are the higher end more expensive asics running shoes. The the gel venture is slightly more affordable. Then I found this shoes: ASICS Men's Endurant Running Shoe on Amazon. It was priced affordably well, cheaper than the above shoes, and the reviews were good. so hey why not try it. But this is not the most comfortable running/walking shoes. The material feels low quality, and the soles, which is a must on any running shoes does not provide good cushioning. It feels harder than the other asics shoes I've listed above. It is still wearable and I'm not going to switch it out until I've worn it out. But I can definitely see why this product has been discontinued by asics.I've worn ASICs for running shoes for more then 10 years. However, once I moved to the middle east I couldn't wear causal shoes anymore. I think my arches feel or something. My feet became swollen and it was difficult to even walk far for about two weeks. So, I looked for shoes with better support and the first brand I turned to was ASICS. I can definitely say that it's really contributed to my overall physical health. My feet still hurt occasionally but it's much better now. Also I want to add that these shoes are really airy so no sweaty feet :). Thanks for making a superior product that can last, provides support and can be worn casually.great shoe, but was to large for me to wear. I normally get 11.5 so after reading other peoples reviews on the shoes I ordered a pair of 11's and found them still to be to large for my feet. I haven't ordered another pair of 10.5 or 10's yet so I can't attest to the need for everyone that wants these shoes of downsizing a full size, but for me I will have to do that and possibly a little more. These shoes are great! I have had these shoes for several weeks now. They have held up well and do not get easily torn like my other ASICS. I have gotten lots of scuff marks near the front of the shoe. But there are no torn areas on them. The souls are not orange out after 50 miles of walking on them. That is a huge plus for me. Although the inserts that came with the shoes are not the greatest to me, I have bought my own inserts. This is your basic shoe. I walk a few times a week in them and wear them whenever I don't think I will be getting them muddy or might have to run in them. I would not recommend for running or high activity. That being said they have held up a few months of normal wear. The non-ASICS reviewers here were right about their shoes running a little big. I switched from Nike's, for some context. I did order a half size smaller than usual and they're still a bit big, but not too much so. Other than that, they feel really light and they breathe really well, which I really like.Just not what I expected. Been wearing Asics for years. This shoe is a little short of what the others have been.
