Unfortunately, I fell victim to my builder's cheap and quick assembly, which included not properly mounting the wire shelving in my 7x11 foot closet. Consequently, a whole section came off the wall after a few weeks of having hung shoe racks from the bars. The weight was just too much for that drywall mounted assembly ??. So I needed a sturdier and functional floor-based solution that would fit under that defunct rack.After hours of research, I decided to give this assembly a try and I'm glad I did! As you can see, I opted to forego the covers. I want to see all my shoes without having to open each lid every time I need to find some shoes. Plus, I think it looks nicer and less "cheap" without the covers.Assembly was pretty easy but time consuming, mostly because I wasn't sure what my final configuration was going to be. Some slots were halved, some not.The unit is surprisingly sturdy, especially if you use the little included hammer to tighten up the connections.
