This makeup bag came in 2 pieces. The plastic expanding drawers were separate from the actual bag but it was simple to insert them into the bag and they fit perfectly. Each drawer is 7.3” x 5.1” x 1/4” (my measurement of height is 1 3/8”) and there are 2 on each side. Be careful not to fill over the top edge or they won’t fold down properly. The tray itself is 10.5” x 7.3” x 9” but the height of the actual storage area is reduced by the height of the 2 trays, which by my calculation is 2 3/4”, so the height would be 6 1/4” (I think lol). The same is true here as with the trays….don’t overfill or the trays won’t be seated securely. There is a zippered pocket on the front of the bag that measures 8”. There are no side pockets which really surprises me and could’ve been a great way to increase storage even more. The top flap has 3 mesh horizontal zippered pockets that measure 9 3/4” L each and the top one is about 4 3/4” in height, the middle one is approximately 3 1/2” and the bottom pocket is approximately 3 1/2” as well. They don’t expand a great deal but they aren’t flat either. In any case they do provide a way to help organize products. My daughter plans on using this case as sort’ve a central storage location for makeup that isn’t used on a daily/regular basis or for products that will get switched out into a “daily” makeup bag frequently. Think of it like this, I’m going to wear neutral eye shadows for a couple days but I want to wear another shade later in the week but I don’t have room for both in my smaller daily bag. One of the eyeshadows can be stored in this bag and switched out when needed. Or it can be used to house overflow products as well. One drawback I see with this case is it won’t accommodate larger palettes. It might house one of the long, rectangular, slender eyeshadow palettes that has 10-12 shades, in one of the trays but I would have to measure to know for sure. One also might fit in the bottom of the large storage area. While this is a decent size bag, and I believe it is actually designed for a manicurist, more storage could’ve been created with the addition of pockets on the sides and back as well as on the inside of the sides, near the top but below the zipper, a flat pocket could’ve worked for small utensils or brushes. There are larger bags out there but they are at least double the price of this one. Depending on your needs this could be the solution you’re looking for. It’s at a really good price point especially if you like its features. It can be carried by a detachable shoulder strap or by a handle on the top.
