I absolutely cannot say enough good things about the shoes. They keep rocks and debris out, but they feel super lightweight, they try quickly after river crossings, and the 5.5 fit me exactly as i expected. i literally wear these sneakers every single day, for walks on my lunch break, Zumba at the gym, biking to work, and light hiking. i originally purchased a 6.5 because of the recommendations of other reviewers, and i was somewhat happy with them even a size too big! Then warm weather hit and i couldnt wear thick socks anymore. i eventually purchased a second pair in my regular size and I am much happier with them. As i write this review i am ordering my third pair of these shoes. Absolutely a perfect 10 in my book!I originally ordered these as a water running shoe, but they quickly became my boat shoe (after my old boat shoes contributed to a major fall and nearly caused me to go overboard because of their slick bottoms). These have an excellent grippy bottom and are non-marking so they are perfect in our sailboat. For underwater running and workouts I wear them without socks. On the boat, I wear them with very thin sport socks. The insole comes out for easy drying. I'm resisting the urge to buy more of these and fill my closet!I wanted a pair of water shoes that I could also use for long walks on the beach and on/off hard surfaces during the walks. These have a hard plastic top that require me to wear thick cotton socks (thin ones not good enough) to keep me from getting blisters. I could walk only about 3 or 4 miles or so in these before the soles of my feet really started to hurt. The thick socks are needed to keep blisters from developing where the top of my toes touched the shoes. So, with the thick socks and limiting the length of my walks, these worked.I'm a water fitness Instructor and I need comfortable shoes to teach on deck and to train in the water.They are very comfortable. They are just a little tiny bigger than expected but Im happy with them.The only thing is the shoelace wont stay. but everything else is great!!!Love the color of the shoe. They are nice and light. Can wear them all day in comfort. Only trouble is that I have arch problems and have to wear my own inserts in the shoe. Other than that they are fine.I bought these for my wife. My responses were based off of her comments. Overall, she thinks they are great shoes. However, they are a little narrower than she would have liked.These are probably the best fit and comfort of the columbia shoes. Columbia is the only casual shoe my family wears. The reason thus one did NOT get 5 stars is that within month, the tongue of one shoe completely separated and i gad to pay a shoemaker to reattach it. BummerThe shoe fits great...indeed is medium not narrow or wide and its extremely comfortable.I went 1 size up...normally I wear 11 but got them in 12 best choice of my life. I bought them for hiking because of the techlite feature and they have good grip. Can wear them all day long. They are also water shoes
