This style was going to solve some of my fashion and comfort troubles. But no!!! It didn't work out that way. I wear a 7 in Altra Provision so that I can wear socks. The 6.5 is too snug for socks. So I thought I should order a 6.5 in these since I intended to wear them without socks. The problem is with the heel cup. It pushes your foot more forward than their regular running shoes do. So I exchanged them for the 7. no dice. I still have the same problem. I'm having a hard time believing that the 7.5 will work since these are otherwise the perfect width in a 7.With all the money they have for research, and the improvements they've made in their running shoes, I don't understand how they could misfire on the fit of this shoe, but they did. So 5 stars on style and concept, but 2 stars for execution. They sort of work if you don't have the back heel up, but who wants that? There's no way around it--these shoes are ugly. They also don't fit so well. I suppose that's why the pair I purchased were on sale. I usually wear a 9.5, but purchased a 10 based on the other reviews. Not sure this was a good idea as they are a little wide, but my toes are nearly to the tip. But my foot still slides around unless I wear socks. I don't like that. You can't wear these with jeans or any other pants as they look ridiculous. My plan is to make these 'house shoes'.I will wash them and if the fit is better I will update with a better rating. This would be a great shoe if the stitching would have held up. Bought my first pair at the outlet and had to go up a full size from my other Altra shoes. The stitching came undone on the right foot shoe. In between, I ordered a pair from a Amazon. After two days of wearing this pair, the left shoe split. I contacted Altra and this shoe has been discontinued. Luckily for me, I now have matched sets of broken and unbroken Altra’s. The good news is I was told they are looking at expanding everyday shoes.....hopefullly, their stitching improves.I might not bag on these so hard if I didn't know firsthand what nice shoes Altra is capable of making at a comparable price point to these. I can't believe they put this style under the Altra name.My husband and I have 3 pairs of Altras between us. They're all well-made, attractive, durable shoes. It's as if this pair of TOKALAs were made by another brand entirely, and I couldn't send them back fast enough. They're cheap-looking, cheaply made, ugly, and poorly fitting. The one good thing about them is that, if desired, the shoe's heel can be flattened under the foot and walked on comfortably and "heel-less." But using these as heeled shoes, with the heel up and over the back of the foot, was very uncomfortable -- the shoe's design pushes the ankle and back edge of the foot strangely forward, in front of the shoe sole's rear edge. Accordingly, my toes unacceptably rubbed the front of the shoes, despite the sole technically (but not functionally) being long enough. If you want to try these, they ran very small for me. I usually wear a size 10 women's, ordered a size 10.5 on Amazon's recommendation, and still ended up with toes rubbing the front hard. It didn't really matter, though, because even if they had fit, I wouldn't have kept them. They weren't even good as expensive house shoes, much less something I would ever even attempt to run in.Not super flattering, but really squishy to walk on. I'm using them to help with a sprained ankle and they work for that. They're short and wide. I got my normal size 8 and my toes hit the front, but a little too wide and wobbly left to right. I certainly needed the wide foot shape for my swelling, but the sole is even wider which I find myself getting tripped up a lot on the mat I stand on at work. They're super lightweight. Overall, not an all the time shoe, but has really helped for healing my sprained ankle.I bought a pair of Altra shoes for my husband who wears a 13 2E. He loved them so I tried them. I went up a half size after reading the reviews saying they ran small. That is an understatement. I wear a solid 7 1/2 and ordered 8. I could not get my foot in the shoe. Also the sewing was sloppy and the difference between his and her was shocking. Altra has a lot more work to do on standardizing their sizing and quality control before they move on. I can not recommend buying these shoes. Bad sizing, poor quality control and other issues takes what should be a great shoe idea to run with but hits a poor management/quality control wall. It is a real shame. The wide differences in the shoes is exactly the problem with the shoe, the company needs to get its act together with all of the issues I mentioned. I hope they do.Day 1 they fit perfectly and seemed to help my heel pain, but the next day they had stretched and begin to shift on the heel. By the end of the day, I had the heel pain back. Not happy. The shoes are comfortable inside and I just wished they didn't shift up and down on my heels. I think they would be great if I had like a size and half down.Ever since the Altra running shoe came out I've bought them.. So it was fitting that I try this shoe. Definitely didn't disappoint! It's comfortable and nice to walk in all day long. I will say that they don't run too small. I usually wear a 6/6.5 so I ordered a 6.. Just a bit large without socks. Love them though!
